About Gemma
When I left school I had no idea what I wanted to do, so I was just looking around for an apprenticeship and I found one in hairdressing. My mum was a hairdresser and my sister is also a hairdresser so it ran in the family so I thought I’ll give it a go! And now I can’t imagine doing anything else. The first salon I worked at I really liked but it was just too quiet for me I knew I needed something more upbeat and busy so I applied for the bank and I’ve been there for 4 years now. Even though most days our equipment seems to grow legs and move to the other side of the salon (nobody owns up to ‘borrowing’ things) I wouldn’t change my work family for the world. Best thing about the salon is that everyone gets on so well and we’re always there for eachother whenever it’s needed both in and outside of work. I enjoy everything about hairdressing I’m glad I do everything so everyday is a little different to the other.
